Home Safety Triage Checklist:
- I have a minimum 10 foot non-combustible area around my home
- My landscaping includes fire-resistant varieties
- Overcrowed or weakened trees have been thinned or removed
- My wood pile is at least 10 feet from the house
- I have cleared pine needles, leaves and debris from my roof and gutters
- My address is posted and visible from the street
- I have evaluated my shake roof for treatment or replacement
-I have created a defensible space around my house
-I have removed tall, dry grasses from the surrounding of my property
-I prune my brushes and shrubs regularly
-I have checked my gas-powered equipment and garden hoses to be sure they are in good repair.
